It’s historically used in traditional Chinese medicine over 3000 years ago, and today modern science confirms in many studies that they have benefits regulating physiological processes. They contain key compounds like beta-glucans, which enhance immune response, and are packed with triterpenes, phenols, sterols, and vitamins B, C, and K. Acting as adaptogens, these mushrooms offer antioxidant, hepatoprotective, and neuroprotective benefits.

Why is there alcohol in your tincture?

In our dual extraction process for mushroom compounds, we utilize a blend of 30% organic, GMO-free cane ethanol and 70% spring water. The ethanol is crucial for extracting alcohol-soluble compounds like triterpenoids that are not soluble in water alone.

Alcohol tinctures are preferred for supplements because they efficiently extract alcohol-soluble compounds, enhancing the potency and effectiveness of the supplement.

What's an adaptogen?

Adaptogens are herbs, plants, and mushrooms known for supporting the body's stress response. Studies indicate adaptogens function at a cellular level, regulating stress hormones to achieve balance—whether by increasing or decreasing levels—as needed. Their unique ability to enhance resilience and combat stress and fatigue makes them valuable for long-term health and vitality.

What are free radicals?

Free radicals are reactive molecules formed during regular cell metabolism. Accumulation within cells can lead to damage of DNA, lipids, and proteins, potentially increasing the risk of cancer and other diseases.

How often can I use Scandi Shrooms mushroom tinctures?

Our mushrooms are a functional food that can be consumed daily. We recommend taking 1-2 ml (one dropper equals 20 drops = 1ml) consistently to see results. However, mushroom supplementation is personal and subjective, so you may choose to adjust the dosage based on your individual needs and preferences.

The effects can be subtle and vary from person to person. Some individuals notice immune system support, general wellness, and increased energy after just two weeks of consistent use. When is the ideal time of day to take your tinctures?

We recommend taking our mushroom tinctures in the morning with your morning ritual or breakfast. Dosing before the day begins helps you harness the power of these super-mushrooms.

Some people prefer taking mushrooms in the evening to benefit from our blend “Relax” and its calming effects of Reishi and Chaga and  before winding down. Others take our “Focus” blend before exercising to enjoy the energizing effects of Cordyceps and Lion's Mane.

Ultimately, any time that suits your routine is ideal for taking mushrooms. There's no bad time to incorporate them into your day!

Can I add your tinctures to hot beverages and acidic ingredients?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Adding our tinctures to hot tea or coffee is perfectly fine. Our mushroom extraction process involves high temperatures and extended simmering, ensuring that the final product remains effective regardless of beverage temperature.

As for apple cider vinegar (ACV) or other acidic liquids, there are no known contraindications. In fact, some herbal traditions use vinegar as a solvent to extract mushrooms. While vinegar is a less potent solvent compared to alcohol, it is still effective. Using our tinctures in a salad dressing is also perfectly acceptable.

Are your products organic?

We grow our mushrooms to organic standards, prioritizing environmental sustainability and sourcing quality ingredients. As a small startup collaborating with our mushroom expert and producer, we are currently in the process of obtaining the Swedish Krav certification for our tinctures.

Are your products gluten free?

Some of the mushrooms we use in our products are grown on oats sourced directly from Swedish growers and processed separately from other grains, ensuring no gluten contamination. However, they have not yet received gluten-free certification. No Scandi Shroom user with gluten allergies have experienced any issues so far.

Are Scandi Shrooms products safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Accepted Answer

At present, insufficient research exists to determine the safety of consuming mushroom extracts during pregnancy or breastfeeding. We recommend consulting your healthcare provider or physician. It's also important to note that our tinctures contain 40% alcohol.

Are Scandi Shrooms products safe for children?

Accepted Answer

Our products are intended for adults. Due to insufficient research, we cannot confidently recommend mushroom extracts for children, so we advise against their use. Instead, incorporating cooked culinary mushrooms into your child's diet is a beneficial option.  In the future we will be developing a non-alcoholic tincture which will be totally safe for children and minors to consume.

Are your products safe if I’m taking prescription meds?

We are unable to offer medical advice and recommend consulting your healthcare provider. If you are taking blood thinning medication, we advise caution when using any mushroom product. Please consult your healthcare provider for guidance.

Are there psychedelic mushrooms in your products?

Accepted Answer

No, we specialise in functional mushrooms with a rich history in Traditional Chinese Herbalism and supported by modern scientific research. None of our mushrooms have hallucinogenic properties.

What is the shelf life of your products?

Read on your bottle for 100% accuracy. But freshly made in the factory it has a shelf life of about 2 years.
